National Glory
Scooter racing
in Australia is
still in its infancy, presenting any player the chance of
national glory.
As Kickbiking
expands, official race meets will multiply,
culminating in the selection of an Australian
team to compete in the World Cup and also
World Championships.
The Governing
body of our sport is the (IKSA) International Kicksled
and Scooter Association . They aim to take us to the Olympics. Given that Kicksledding
appeared as a demo sport in the winter Olympics, they're kicking goals.
The Australian
Footbike Association has been set up with the goal of having
competitive participation at the biannual World Champs next due in
2010. Join us at

Race Details
Event: Racing
in the Southern Hemisphere has only just begun. In Europe
they already hold a bi-annual Eurocup series and
now in the alternate year they now hold the World
Champs, the first being held in 2004. Both
these events are incorporated into the World Cup - 4 race series every
year.
Australia was
represented at the lastest World Champs held in August 2008, we were
the first Southern Hemisphere representation at any of
these events, so we are looking
to continue this trend and add Kickbiking to Australia's list of competitive sports. We have
also applied to hold a World Cup event here in
Australia.
There are also
a number of fundraising bike rides held around Australia, which we
have permission to enter on Kickbikes. These are great for
getting out and achieving some longer distance rides, while getting
some awesome support from other participants.

News - Longest kick in Australia.
Phil McDonald of Melbourne completed 210km as part of "Around the
Bay in a Day" an organised Bike ride attracting over 10,000
entrants. His kicking time was 12hrs 15minutes. Well done Phil. Both
Phil Summers and Bruce Cook completed the 100km event on the same
day, in 5hrs 8min. Well done to all, but we would love to have some
other crazy characters join us next year.
Footbike is the
generic name given to non-powered scooters throughout the European
countries, like the name Bicycle is to pushbikes. The Australian
Footbike Association (AFA) has been established to ensure the sport
of Footbike racing is strongly established to ensure that Australia
is competitive in the international arena. For further news
